Electrical Technician

Title:Electrical Technician Location: Cambridgeshire/East Anglia Rate: £20ph (Ltd) Duration: 6 months + Ref: 132760 Our Client: An international electricity and gas company and one of the largest investor-owned energy companies in the world ranked 199th in the worlds largest companies list. The Role: To undertake routine electrical maintenance and also be capable of undertaking basic instrumentation maintenance under the guidance of the current instrument technician.The maintenance requirements will be routine inspections, overhauls and examinations. There will also be defects that are of varying priorities - this will necessitate an element of felxibility in work ethic. Primary maintenance obligations relate to Bacton Terminal and the surrouding pipeline/AGI sites.From time to time, there will be a need for the successful candidate to work on other compressor sites within East Anglia, and also on Pipeline/AGI sites further afield. Standby requirements maybe required once suitable training and experience has been undertaken. Experience & Qualifications - Educated to a minimum of ONC or equivalent preferred, however relevant experience will be considered - Time served electrician - 17 Edition IEE Regs - COMPEX - First aid training - Industrial Electrical Maintenance experience, preferably within the upstream Oil & Gas - Proven experience undertaking corrective maintenance under break down situations. - Experience of low voltage electrical maintenance and Hazardous area equipment is essential. - An understanding of appropriate Company/Industry standards and instructions - Assessed as competent against STC framework, with detailed understanding of Safe Control of Operations documentation.
