Web Development Officer

Applications are invited for the permanent post of Web Development Officer.
Working as a Web Development Specialist, the successful candidate will play a key role in the implementation of the Web strategy of the Company.
Objectives:-
Key objectives for the role include:
(a) Design, builds, implement and maintain Company websites
(b) Advise, assist, Support and help to train the Company community in their use of the WWW
(c)Keep abreast of Internet/WWW technologies
(d)Provide support in evaluating, testing and implementing new Web tools and technologies.
We are looking for an experienced Web Specialist who is innovative and delivery focused. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in the design and implementation of high quality websites together with strong interpersonal, communications and customer service skills. Applicants must hold an IT related qualification.
Role:-
The successful applicant will be involved in the design, construction, implementation and maintenance of the Company website and of the Internet based systems that support the business of the Company. S/he will work with the Company community and with other professionals to deliver innovative and high quality solutions.
The key tasks and responsibilities will include:-
- Design, build, implement and maintain Internet based systems.
- Play a key role in the maintenance of the University websites.
- build Company news letter and send them to prospective customers as per company policy.
- Superior knowledge of current web-design trends and techniques, a strong online portfolio displaying user-centered design
- Experience of building professional complex work-flow based commercial applications for a web company or interactive agency



The Skills/Competencies:
Applicants must:-
- Have a demonstrated flair for the creative design of Websites.
- Have the technical competence to design, build and maintain innovative Internet based systems.
- Have strong HTML skills and have experience in some of the following: Cascading Style Sheets, XML, Server side Programming (PHP, Perl, etc), Web Authoring tools, Photoshop, Flash and multimedia.
- Have the ability to train others in Internet technologies and tools.
- Have strong interpersonal, customer service and communications skills.
- Score highly on initiative and innovation.
- Hold an IT related qualification.
