U.s. News Organization Seeks Freelance Journalists

Provoices, the newest undertaking by San Francisco-based allvoices.com, the leader in citizen reporting, is looking for freelance journalists. Positions are available in Pakistan, Afghanistan, and throughout the region. Only experienced journalists need apply.

We’re looking for working reporters who can mix multimedia savvy with old-fashioned shoe leather reporting. Your words will be posted to our website as written, so please don't apply unless you are comfortable writing in English.

The right candidates will know how to recognize a story, report a story, write it clean and get it up on our site fast. We’re looking for correspondents who can cover news, break news and explain news. Experience with coverage of politics and war-related issues preferred. These are not feature writing positions.

Applicants will have published clips and a professional career either as a freelancer or a former reporter or editor in any medium. In other words: professional voices, or provoices. No writers of jargon, please. Self starters wanted and admired. This is not a position for beginners.

Positions are part-time contract jobs, with contributors expected to file two or three stories a month, along with photos and video in some cases. Stories can be pitched and will also be assigned. Web experience helpful but not essential.
